I had the incredible honor of showcasing my work in What Can You Do With A Degree In Art, the final exhibition of artist Sven Anderson at the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery. This exhibition celebrated Sven’s remarkable legacy, featuring works by artists he deeply admired. Among these, my artwork was displayed alongside the Official Cover of Adobe Photoshop 2021 by fellow artist Ted Chin—a moment that was both surreal and humbling. Seeing my work side, the work I encountered daily while teaching and working with design, felt like a really cool milestone in my creative journey.
For the show, I contributed Overgrowth of Life I and II, a series of playful yet thought-provoking pieces envisioning a post-GMO world where plants and animals grew to massive proportions. Being part of this monumental exhibition, held from November 15–28, 2021, to honor Sven’s life’s work, was an unforgettable achievement that I’ll always cherish.
